The “Ferry Kochi” was delivered on 25th July 2000 to Osaka Kochi Tokkyu Ferry, a very long name which clearly describes the services plyed by the company. This ferry linked Kochi, on the Southeastern coast of Shikoku island, to Osaka, Honshu Island. The service lasts till 2005 then the ferry was laid up until the purchase by Corfu Fast Ferries of April 2006. The ferry was reflagged to Greece on 24th April and was renamed “Theologos P” after the shipowner of the company, starting its trip to Greece which ended in Perama on 25th May 2006. The ferry is considerably different than the previous two vessels of the company, particularly because of the garage, probably one of the best garages ever seen on a Japanese-built ferry arrived in Greece: two deck for trailers and lorries, the upper deck with side openings, hoistable ramp between the decks, bow visor and ramp, starboard stern quarter ramp, engine casing disposed along starboard side leaving all the decks free. The ship is obviously too much for the Corfu trade, and surprisingly Corfu Fast Ferries decides to deploy the ferry on one of the most competitive Cycladic routes, the Rafina – Andros – Tinos – Mykonos, against the veterans “Penelope A”, “Superferry II” and the Greek-built “Aqua Jewel”. Unfortunately the conversion work, still in progress, quitted the good “drive-through” system, welding the bow visor; the stern quarter vehicle ramp was put at stern centre, a new passenger ramp was fitted at stern, starboard side, with escalator, a dummy funnel was put at port side, part of the side openings on upper garage were welded and enclosed.
