A ferry of the Framnæs serie ordered by Tor Line and completed for the Government of German Democratic Republic in 1975, she remained under German State ownership until 1994, first for Eastern Germany, later for the reunited Germany, when was sold to DFDS Tor Line and later was engaged on various charters from her owner Seahawk as their “Seahawk”. Sold to Aegean Cargo, was renamed “Aegean Sun”, and after the Northern Cyprus facts and her long lay-up, resumed service as the “Archagelos”, a word which in Greece is associated to St. Michael Archangel, which is greatly honoured by Greeks and feasted on November 8th, according to Christian Orthodox Calendar. After her come back in service, was engaged on Piraeus – Chios – Mytilini service for Nel Lines, led by Apostolos Ventouris, which intended to join the forces of his companies Nel Lines and C-Link with Aegean Cargo and the better known company of Ventouris family, Ventouris Ferries. Anyway Kostas Agapitos abandoned soon this project and the “Archagelos” was again chartered to ANEK, which still operates her between Piraeus and Crete.
