Line

The “Espresso Egitto” enters Adriatica fleet in 1980, after being delivered to Trans Tirreno Express in 1974 as their “Espresso Cagliari”. Anyway this ship served only a few trips for TTE: from June 1974 was chartered to Adriatica, maintaining her original name. The first service performed for the Venice-based company was the only Ancona – Greece ferry service of the company’s history, the Ancona – Corinth – Heraklion, effected till December 1974; at that date the ferry was transferred to Venice – Egypt line, calling at Piraeus and Heraklion enroute to Alexandria. Later the ferry called also at Dubrovnik on summertime. On 1991 the ferry was heavily rebuilt to improbe her passenger services, and when she was redelivered to the owner by INMA shipyard of La Spezia had the name “Egitto Express”, being redeployed on ItalyEgypt service until 1993. Subsequently involved in various services for Adriatica, mainly serving Greece, was chartered to Hellenic Mediterranean Lines for Summer seasons 2001 and 2002; then on winter 2002 for a short period to Tirrenia. After having operated for Adria Ferries as the “Riviera del Conero”, and later as the “AF Michela” for eleven years linking Italy and Albania, in 2015 was sold to Traghetti delle Isole  and renamed “Lampedusa”.
