The first “Dimitra” of G.A. Ferries; all the three ferries dedicated to the daughter of Gerasimos Agoudimos were built in Italy. Delivered to British Rail in 1971, was used on almost all the most important links of the British company, both in Irish Sea and the Channel. Instead, for British Ferries sailed to Channel islands plus a brief spell, in 1989, on charter to B&I Line for their Pembroke – Rosslare line. Was refitted in 1989: the stern superstructure increased, the upper deck covered and the lifeboats each side were only two in spite of the former four. Under the name “Dimitra” for G.A. Ferries, sailed everywhere in the Aegean, but mainly on routes to Syros, Tinos, Myconos, Paros, Naxos, Amorgos, Astipalea, Ikaria, Samos. For Agapitos instead, stated playing the new Paros - Naxos - Ios - Santorini route, then replaced by the new acquired ships “Super Naias” and “Panagia Ekatontapiliani” and put on the line Piraeus - Syros - Tinos - Myconos - Paros - Naxos - Heraklia - Schinousses - Koufonissia. Acquired by Minoan Flying Dolphins in 2000 and soon transferred to the subsidiary Hellas Ferries, is on Cycladic routes. Athough they’re not sisters, this ship is very similar to the former “Antrim Princess”, now under Medmar colours.
