· Born on Greek
Domestic Routes, the company later abandoned them to serve Greece – Italy trade. · Fragline hadn’t operated
ever with its name painted on ferry’s hulls, but used two different liveries
(plain white hull and dark blue/white hull) and two different funnel marks
(the three dark-blue stripes and the “F” logo). · About the liveries
of the company, it’s interesting to notice that the first and the last ferry
of the company, the “Elli” and the “Ouranos” ex “Tor
Hollandia” wore the same colour
scheme, even if the latter had a different funnel mark in her last years; for
many years Fragline operated two or more ferries
with different liveries each other: this happened in the Seventies, with the “Elli”
in white and the “Georgios” in dark-blue, and from
1986 to 1995, with the “Eolos” in dark-blue and the
“Ouranos” in white. The “Eolos”
and the “Georgios” operated under the same blue
livery. · The first two
ferries were dedicated to the members of Fragoudakis
family, Captain Georgios Fragoudakis
and his wife Elli, the others received mythological names, and “Ouranos”, which was identified with the company, was used
on two different ferries. · The “Elli” was the
first car ferry operating to Paros and Naxos. |
· Nata come operatore delle linee interne greche,
successivamente passa a servire esclusivamente la linea Grecia – Italia. · Fragline non ha mai operato scrivendo il proprio nome sullo
scafo delle navi, tuttavia ha utilizzato due diverse livree (scafo
completamente bianco e scafo blu scuro/bianco) e due differenti disegni per
il fumaiolo (le tre strisce blu scuro e il logo “F”). · Sempre a proposito di livree, è interessante dire che
la prima e l’ultima nave della compagnia, “Elli” ed
“Ouranos” ex “Tor Hollandia”
hanno avuto lo stesso schema di colori, sebbene negli ultimi anni la “Ouranos” sfoggiasse il nuovo logo sul fumaiolo; per molti
anni la compagnia ha operato coppie di navi con diverso schema di colori:
negli anni ’70 “Elli” bianca e “Georgios”
blu; dal 1986 al 1995 “Eolos” blu e “Ouranos” bianca. “Eolos” e “Georgios” hanno convissuto in livrea blu. · Le prime due navi furono dedicate ai membri della
famiglia Fragoudakis, il Capitano Georgios Fragoudakis e sua
moglie Elli, mentre gli altri hanno ricevuto nomi
mitologici; “Ouranos”, utilizzato su due differenti
navi, era diventato una sorta di “trade-mark”. · La “Elli” fu il primo
car-ferry a servire la linea di Paros e Naxos. |
